Open Archives Initiative

The Open Archives Initiative (OAI) aims to facilitate the efficient dissemination of information content. The OAI was originally concerned with enhancing access to e-print archives to improve scholarly communication, but the technical framework and standards it develops and promotes are applicable to a wide range of digital materials.
